December 2018 Newsletter

A few words from Ms. Kerrie:

It’s the most WONDERFUL time of the year!

One of my favorite things about the Holidays is the pure JOY and wonderment of children throughout the season. When you combine that with their love for the arts, be it dancing, music, or acting, it is absolute magic!

I hope you take the time to enjoy watching your child doing what they love during our Parent Observation Week, December 17-22! Teachers and students alike are always proud to show you what they have been working on. This truly is a special chance for you to sit back, relax, and be present during the busyness of the season.

As we close 2018, I am so grateful for all the GOOD that is happening IN and THROUGH our studio.  But the best part is being able to do something we love with people we love every day. Forevermore families….we love you and we thank you for being part of our family. We hope you enjoy all the best that the season has to offer.

Wishing you and your family the Happiest of Holidays!

Ms. Kerrie

Inviting all parents to our Parent Observation Week!

Don’t forget! Parents and guests are invited into our classrooms to watch the LAST 10 MINUTES of their dancer’s class for Parent Observation Week: Monday, December 17th - Saturday, December 22nd.

Please remember to silence your cell phones and remind siblings to observe quietly so that dancers may concentrate. Bring your camera! Invite Grandma or Grandpa! We can’t wait to show you some of what we’ve been learning this season!

NEW Adult Classes!

We are so excited to kick off our NEW Adult Fitness class offerings on Wednesday evenings, taught by our very own Ms. Sam!

7:00-7:50PM Contemporary Pilates Mat Class
With the Classical Mat approach, The Contemporary Mat class brings more variation, modifications, and movement to the 50 minute class. It is designed to activate the entire body, using gravity as the resistance, to bring awareness, space, and movement to the targeted area. Any level Pilates participant welcome!

8:00-8:50PM "Butts & Guts"
This lower body sculpting class offers movements and exercises targeting the areas that offer the most strength and tone for our bodies. Repetition, focus, and precision will be used to target, and tone those hard to reach muscles. This Pilates class is perfect for any level, as the repertoire includes a mixture of classical and contemporary Pilates exercises.

Bring a yoga mat and towel and get ready to SWEAT!

Classes started November 28th, but it’s not too late to join us! Call us at 773-237-5200 or visit our front desk for pricing and to register.

Bracing for the cold weather…

It's Decem-brrrrr! Please be sure to remind our tweens and teens to bundle up after dance class.  It’s important to put warm clothes on a sweaty body before going out in the chilly weather.  On snowy days, please remember to leave wet snow boots at the front door so all our dancing feet can stay dry and warm.

In the event of inclement weather, a message will be left on the studio answering machine by 2pm (8am for Saturday classes) regarding the status of classes. An email will also be sent to all families with classes that day and a notification alert will be texted.

Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings, as roads are often cleared or weather conditions have improved by the time studio classes begin. Additionally, it is possible that schools could be in session, but we may need to cancel studio classes due to winter weather developing later in the day.

We’re Going Green!

Forevermore is going green! Starting January 7th, we will no longer be providing disposable plastic bottles of water. To promote being kind to our environment, we will instead be encouraging students to bring their own reusable water bottles. We will also be selling reusable water bottles at the front desk for $4.

Additionally, in an effort to encourage healthy eating habits in the new year, we will be discontinuing our snack bar behind the front desk. If you know you will need a snack in between classes, please try to remember to bring a healthy option from home. Here are some ideas to get you started: apples, cheese sticks, raisins, trail mix, or almonds!
