Intermediate Program
These classes are for dancers age 12 and up who love to dance. Experience is required. Advancement is based on correct placement, skill mastery, and instructor recommendation- not always by age which means all classes have a variety of age levels. Students spend several years at each level before mastering the skills to advance. Students receive annual skills test. Ballet students take an additional vocabulary test.
Dancers have onstage performance opportunities in our annual Recital in June.
Be sure to ask about our new Star Leadership Program and we are accepting applications for our Teaching Assistant Scholarship Program.
Ballet Technique
75 min
Moving into these levels implies that a dancer is dedicated and has a strong sense of ballet alignment and stability on their standing leg. They should be able to maintain placement during the entire class. Each level usually takes two to three years to complete (when attending ballet 2-3X's a week). Stamina will be built while maintaining clean lines and placement. Dancers will also show greater independence in taking correction and applying it. Increased flexibility, ability to find balance, and consistent double pirouettes area mark of readiness to advance to the next level. In order to execute the skills required in Intermediate Ballet and higher, it is recommended that students attend ballet two to three times a week at these levels.
Pre-Pointe
30 min
A year-long preparatory class before dancing en pointe. Most dancers spend an average of 1-2 years in pre-pointe. For safety reasons, enrollment in this class does not guarantee pointe shoes. Not all students' feet are naturally adept to dancing en pointe, and it is therefore not safe for all students. (Co-enrollment in ballet technique required.)
Pointe Technique
(Intermediate Ballet & Higher) 45 min
Forevermore’s Pointe Program is a specialized opportunity for students to further their interests in Ballet and help them reach their full artistic potential. Admission into the Pointe Program is initiated by a recommendation from a Forevermore Instructor. Students must have previous ballet experience, and display talent and commitment to their training. Pointe is a specialized extension of ballet training where ballerinas dance on the tips of their toes in specially designed shoes. It was first incorporated in Classical Ballet to create an illusion of flight and mysticism for the ethereal creatures in story ballets; such as angels, ghosts, fairies, and other magical beings.

Tap Technique
45 min
Tap is a form of dance developed in the 1900’s and has been a favorite for audiences and dancers alike. It’s like playing a musical instrument with your feet and once you get the rhythm in your body you can’t stop moving. Dancers produce different rhythms by making intricate sounds with flaps, shuffles, slaps, and scuffles. Proper tap terminology is taught while learning how to listen and reproduce various sounds and rhythmical patterns all while having a great time.
